Three days, one bag: inside a San Gimignano workshop.

On the first morning there is a hide on the table and a pattern on the wall. By the third afternoon, you leave with a bag you made yourself.
Day one: cutting
You learn to read the leather, plan the cuts and use the knife. Most of the first day is about care, not speed.
“Measure twice. The leather does not forgive.”
Day two and three: stitching and finishing
Saddle stitching by hand takes patience. Then the edges are bevelled, dyed and burnished until they are smooth.
The result is not perfect, and that is the point: it is yours, and you know how every part of it was made.
